Tim Cotterill was born in Leicester, England, in 1950, and left school at fifteen to complete a six year engineering apprenticeship. This metal-directed education provided a sound base for Tim's subsequent career in the arts. Intrigued with metalworking, Tim moved into the sculpture of radical wheeled vehicles, later finding his peak interest in the design of animals and birds during the 70's and 80's. Over 1000 original steel, bronze, and gold bird sculptures have been sold world wide; many through Sotheby's auction house in London.

Tim's curiosity of the diverse lifestyles in California led to many trips to the USA. Emigrating to California in 1990, he exhibited and sold his art all across America. These new high energy surroundings brought out the fun in his art. Time is now fully focused on Frogs. His bronze sculptures capture the whimsical character, the jewel like quality, and the pure joy of these beautiful little creatures.
