Including a background as a graphic designer, art director and creative director at ad agencies, Rogene has always created art. As a child, art was her best friend. Manas has traveled in the U.S, Mexico and Europe studying painting, drawing, sculpture and jewelry making. Through the years Rogene has taught art to children in a variety of settings, including Artist in Residence programs and she helped found Studio, a pilot art program for the Springfield School District. She is now teaching mixed media workshops at Clay Space in Eugene. "I create from my feelings and thoughts. That took me from painting reality to painting what was inside my head. As I express what is inside me, I hope I am expressing what is inside all of us. The common thoughts and feelings that circulate from one ego to another in search of a home."
