CANNON BEACH, OREGON – Haystack Gallery, celebrating its 33rd anniversary in Cannon Beach, announces three new local artists to our family; watercolorist Bart DeGraaf, glass artist Lynn Bishop and painter Melinda Cowdery. Melinda Cowdery has been a practicing Oregon artist since 1986, showing her lively watercolors and acrylic paintings in fine art galleries throughout the western United States . She is known best for her lively & colorful bird and animal paintings. Lynn Bishop began her professional career as an oil painter, primarily focusing on landscape and water. Lynn became fascinated with the art of fusing glass, and is best known in this medium. In 2005 she teamed up with Melinda to create these beautiful works.
DeGraaf has two very distinct styles, one is his semi- abstract landscapes and the other style which we carry is a more humorous glimpse into his inner psyche - frogs and their favorite libations. His style is rich with color and texture, movement and design which releases a sense of emotion for the viewer and offers a connection and allows you to enter his world for a brief moment in time. They are a piece of who Bart is…very interesting.About Haystack GalleryA Fine Art Gallery established in 1977, Haystack Gallery displays the artwork of over 75 Northwest, national and internationally recognized artists, covering a wide range of styles including original oils, pastels, acrylics and watercolors, bronze and steel sculptures, hand-made jewelry, limited and open edition giclées and lithographs.
